Teachers’ Workshops Stage 5.2, Now NESA Accredited

This workshop is for all teachers who have completed the Stage 5.1 workshop OR have a basic to intermediate knowledge of Stage 5 IA timber. This workshop will add to your skills, techniques and knowledge for Industrial Arts timber.

Woodchix is NESA accredited for 30 hours by attending all 5 days of this course.

Min 4, Max 8 teachers per block. Time: 9am to 4.00pm for 1 week.

If teachers have completed the 5.1 workshop, then 5.2 is the follow on. They will make one project in the five days that will cover a semesters worth of work for year 10 timber. Any teacher who wanted to return and do more learning, THIS IS THE 1!!

Description

For all teachers delivering Stage 5 TAS Industrial Arts Timber. Prerequisite: Part 1 course.

In your 5 days of classes, you will be learning and using the table saw & other machinery, sharpening chisels & planes, making jigs, using the dovetail/box joint machine, learning & making more joints and building a Yr10 project.

All attendees have been invited to join the Woodchix Google Drive where you have access to HEAPS of resources. There are more being added & I hope you add some resources too. This saves teachers having to replicate existing programs.

Prepare yourselves for a full-on 5 days and to build a terrific timber project. This teaching aid will incorporate all you need to know for your class for a semester.

Cost includes GST glues, screws, nails, paints, finishes, sanding papers and timber just bring yourself.

Safety with hand tools and all machinery & building of confidence (e.g. Drill, compact driver, hand saws, chisels, drop saw, table saw etc)

You will be consistently reminded of all safety aspects of all the tools you will be using and shown the skills and correct techniques to develop while working on your projects.

Advice, discussion and teaching on what you will need to do to accomplish your project will be

conducted by a qualified Timber teacher of 20+ years experience and a Cert IV Training & Assessment 40116LLN.

WHS is adhered to, leather enclosed shoes or steel cap shoes (NO RUNNERS), hair tied back and no loose clothing is a MUST.
